The Aeropress coffee maker is very simple to use, which is good news for fans of full-bodied coffees. Unlike espresso, the coffee produced by this machine is incredibly complex and highly aromatic, thanks to the total immersion of the coffee grounds in the hot water.

Our advice

THE GRIND

Size: fine, but not too fine. A very fine grind will produce a more intense body, but it will be harder to press down the plunger!

Quantity: 7 to 9 g for 100 ml of water. One Aeropress spoonful corresponds to 2 cups of coffee (200 ml of water).

THE WATER

Filtered or spring water, if possible. Do not use boiling water (90-95 °C).

HOW TO USE

1/ Place the filter paper in the filter holder and clip this into the Aeropress chamber.

2/ Place the Aeropress on top of a cup or mug then rinse the filter under hot water.

3/ Add the required amount of ground coffee to the chamber, using the funnel.

4/ Use the correct amount of water for the number of cups being prepared (the marking 1 to 4 on the vessel corresponds to 100 ml).

5/ Pour the water in two steps: add the first half of the water slowly (30 seconds), then pour in the rest, up to the mark corresponding to the desired number of cups.

6/ Stir the mixture using the spatula provided and leave to brew for up to 1 minute.

7/ Insert the Aeropress plunger and press down.

8/ Enjoy!
