The perfect balance of body and flavour
Thanks to its cone with spiral ridges, fitted with a thin filter, the V60 coffee maker produces aromatic coffee with a beautifully deep flavour, and more body than with a Chemex.
Size: medium. A very fine grind will give the coffee too much body, and a very coarse grind will allow the water to flow through too quickly, bringing out the coffee's acidity.
Quantity: between 7 and 10 g for each 100 ml of water, measured with the Hario® spoon sold with the V60
Filtered or spring water, if possible. Do not use boiling water (90-95 °C).
HOW TO USE
1/ Place your V60® on top of a cup or decanter.
2/ Add the filter, bleached or unbleached, and rinse it with hot water from a pour-over kettle.
3/ Wait for all the water to drain through the filter. Discard the water.
4/ Add the correct amount of ground coffee to the filter.
5/ Pour the water in two steps. Caution: do not use boiling water.
6/ Extraction step one: pour the water slowly into the centre of the V60®, fully saturating the coffee.
7/ Wait 30 seconds then cover the coffee with water, ensuring it does not spill out of the filter.
8/ Remove the filter and enjoy!
