Doña Juana coffee is grown in the region of Chimaltenango. This region has soil which is rich in minerals thanks to the presence of volcanoes. Doña Juana coffee is a true delight for coffee lovers, and is characterised by its creamy body.
Female producers at the heart of the Fuerza de Mujer project
The Asproguate cooperative is made up mainly of women who are involved in coffee growing. The "Fuerza de Mujer" (strength of women) programme provides additional support for women producers by giving them access to training in finance, health and nutrition.

The Asproguate association was created in 2014 thanks to a group of 100 producers from the r...egions of Cobán, Acatenango and Chimaltenango.
ORGANIC PRACTICES
The members of the cooperative have been trained so they can create their own organic fertilisers and insecticides.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES
The producers take care of their environment, evaluating soil erosion, using green barriers, and diversifying the type of shade.
SOCIAL PRACTICES
The Asproguate association focuses on gender equality, and rejects discrimination, slavery and child labour.
